New Star Wars Set Photos Hit The Web

On August 8, 2015, British news site Mirror.co.uk published aerial photos taken from above Elstree Studios in England that show actors dressed in stormtrooper armor while on a film set. The site claims these photos may be of one of the sets from Star Wars: Rogue One due to the stormtrooper armor being that of the Galactic Empire, and not the First Order.

I was inclined to believe this until my eyes caught some discrepancies in 2 of the photos. A man is standing among the stormtroopers who looks A LOT like J.J. Abrams. The reason why this sticks out to me is because J.J. is not involved with Rogue One in any sort of directorial, production, or even advisory role.

I also noticed the charcoal black colored shuttle with exposed landing ramp, and I know what you're thinking....But the Empire had gray colored shuttles! The black ones are from the First Order! This is true, which is why I think this is a flashback sequence that takes place during a time of transition between Ep. VI & VII where the Shattered Empire time period exists. As we all know, Rogue One takes place before A New Hope and the Galactic Empire loved those matte gray paint jobs.

Finally, the set looks like it's a desert setting. Based on the Rogue One teaser, the system in which the Death Star is hidden has a planet which has a lush forest/jungle like environment.

Based on these assertions, I'm inclined to believe that these photos are from The Force Awakens.

Check out the photos below. Do you agree with my analysis? Head over to our Facebook page and let us know! Also, feel free to join our Facebook group for fun daily discussions about all things Star Wars!

MTFBWY!

That guy looks an awful lot like J.J. Abrams...
