The game can now be found on the EA Access menu. Selecting it should take you to the game where it will be available to download.

Star Wars Battlefront Season Pass: Is it worth it?

EA announced a Battlefront Season Pass which is now available for pre-order here.

What does the season pass get you?

This....

The price? A whopping $49.99

As much as I love Star Wars, they better have some more stuff for that fifty bucks they want me to fork over.  Maybe it's just me, but I'd find it a hard pill to swallow, paying almost the price of a regular game for 4 expansions and an emote. The whole idea of a season pass is that you pay in bulk at a lower per unit cost, plus get some exclusives that make it worthwhile.

Click pic to pre-order

While the 2 week early access & emote is nice and everything, I think they should consider adding a unique weapon or even an alternate character uniform scheme. Something that would make you stand out from the other players. Maybe different camouflage & gear or perhaps a character only playable by season pass holders (like a commando or special forces unit for both sides).....something!

However, like the statement says, more news will be revealed soon, so I may be worried for no reason.....then again, what if my concerns are justified?

Would you pay for a season pass? Let us know on our FB page & FB Group!

Are You Ready For That Darth Maul Game?

Remember that canceled Darth Maul game? Well - Red Fly Studio wants to breathe new life into it again!

Speaking during a Reddit AMA, Red Fly developer Dan Borth answered some questions regarding what the game would be should the team manage to find a new home for it.

“We have been burning a candle for this game since it was killed,” continues Borth, “[and we hope] we can get it turned back on again. If that is to happen, we need to approach EA with a demo that will impress them. I think we have that or are close to it. Still it is completely not up to us.”
And for the die-hard fans of the prequels, there’s an idea that’s sure to be met with complete approval: “I would vote for an Easter egg where Maul kills Jar Jar over and over.”
Game Informer did an interesting article on Darth Maul's initial development in a past issue. Apparently this game was supposed to be a stealth/action hybrid, not dissimilar to Arkham Asylum. Maul is obviously a powerful warriors but in many situations he would need to rely on the Force and his ability to kill silently. He was a "glass cannon": able to dish out a lot of damage but also very fragile.

Check out the video below! I REALLY want this game to be made. Let us know what you think in the comments.

Battlefront BETA Breakdown With Tips

Have you spent time in the frozen wastes of Hoth? The Star Wars: Battlefront Beta went live yesterday, and the consensus is good! Finaly, a true imagining of the Star Wars universe, in all its epic scope and orchestral flourish. But it’s still a competitive shooter, and you’ll find yourself flailing unless you’ve spent a lot of time with these games or have some sort of natural acumen. Things are a little different in this game, and even veterans will take a moment to get used to things.

The Star Wars Battlefront beta began at 3pm UK time and will most likely end on Sunday night (October 11).

It is open to everyone and only takes a download to get going but beware, both consoles need around 7GB of space, while PC users will need 11GB. Not such a problem for those gamers with big hard drives, although some may have to start deleting older copies of titles.

Tips From Forbes:
Lose The Iron Sights: This is the big one. Star Wars: Battlefront, like most games, gives you the ability to hold down the left trigger and look down your weapon’s sights. Unlike most games, doing this gives you absolutely no accuracy advantage, and so you’re better off just firing from the hip. It will be hard to get used to for anyone that’s played a lot of Call of Duty, but looking down those sights at short to mid-range encounters does nothing but waste a few valuable shooting moments. Learn to lose them, and let loose. You can even play in third person to help shake the feeling that you’re playing a normal shooter.
Throw Grenades Like Confetti: Once you’ve leveled up for a little bit, you’ll fill out your character’s “hand” with a few Star Wars cards granting special abilities: in my case, a sniper rifle and a grenade. Use these things constantly. The cooldown is a lot less than you might expect, and you’ll find that you can use these things with a certain degree of abandon. So if you find yourself with a nice rock to crouch behind and you see a firefight on the other side of the map, pull out your sniper. If you see lasers flying anywhere, throw a grenade. In Walker Assault, there are a whole lot of enemies to choose from at any given moment, so you’re better off letting those grenades fly and making it a little unpredictable for them. The same goes for powerups: resist the urge to horde these, as there are always more. The only exception would be if you find an A/X wing or orbital strike just before the Y-Wings are going to arrive. Then you’ll want to use those in a way that maximizes your time doing damage to the AT-ATs.
Flank: This one is mostly for Walker Assault — Drop Zone doesn’t quite have enough people or space to justify any extended flanking maneuvers. But it can be absolutely key in Walker Assault. If you see a firefight in progress around one of the control points, don’t just run in and add another warm body into the mix. Find a way around, watch out for enemies along the way, and try to surprise the enemies from the side or rear. This is especially helpful for the empire, which plays a more aggressive game as they try to deactivate uplinks. Just be careful to sprint through any open expanses you’ll need to cross: snipers are everywhere. And if you find yourself standing still to fire, be aware the enemy is trying to flank you, too.
Find Cover: Like I said, there are snipers everywhere. That little speck in the distance is very much a threat, and Walker Assault is a wide open map. So be very careful whenever you’ve got a view of any substantial portion of the battlefield, because someone else will be using that view to take you down. Luckily, it’s also a pretty well designed map, so you’ll find plenty of rocks and outcroppings even in the midst of what looks like an open field. And when in doubt, keep moving. The weapons aren’t great against a sprinting target, so even if you take some hits, you’ll probably be alright.
Don’t Worry If You Win Or Lose: This isn’t some elementary school platitude, rather just an unfortunate side effect of the current game balance. In Walker Assault, the empire is going to win nearly every time. The rebel alliance needs to display a shocking amount of dominance to even have a shot at winning this game mode, and even then it’s not a given. So think about the game in terms of smaller objectives, or else you’ll get frustrated at the balancing.
The big question will be if the final product has enough about it to keep gamers happy, the beta itself allows access to Walker Assault on Hoth, Drop Zone on Sullust and Survival Mission mode.

There Has Been An Uprising... Mobile Game Coming Before TFA!

It's VERY rare that a mobile game would have an impact on the story-line of a MAJOR film, but in the case of Uprising that may be changing.

From TheGuardian.com:
Kabam's previous releases include The Hobbit: Kingdoms, Lord of the Rings: Legends, Fast and Furious: Legacy and The Hunger Games: Panem Rising. The new Star Wars game is its most high-profile yet.
Star Wars: Uprising is set in between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, making it an official addition to the Star Wars canon. That is a significant moment for mobile gaming, which until recently has more often been a source of licensing dollars rather than new stories for the franchise.
The massively multiplayer game will let players create their own characters – “become the next Han Solo, Boba Fett or entirely unique hero of your own design” runs its blurb – and exploring familiar environments such as the planet Hoth, as well as new scenes.

Like Kabam’s other games, it is free but funded by in-app purchases of virtual items including tips for the Cantina Band or goods from Kashyyyk (both £3.99) and hazard pay for Stormtroopers (£14.99).
Uprising’s release a few months before the premiere of The Force Awakens is no coincidence: it is a key part of the advance promotion for the new film, with Kabam and Disney well aware that fans will flock to the game looking for more hints on the movie’s plotlines and characters.
See the full article here.

Uprising will be the first game to expand on the official Star Wars canon.  I'm sure you've probably played Commander, Angry Birds, or the Topps Collectible Card Game; but this is something different.  Stay tuned to the network for official release dates.

Star Wars Battlefront Poised To End Destiny's Popularity

Destiny was the most highly anticipated title to hit the market back in 2014. It's production budget was a record $500 million. The game claimed it would run for 10 years based purely on DLC content.

The game came out, and despite it's ups, downs, and even some disappointments it remains a highly popular game among it's players. New DLC is released on a steady basis, and players continue to grind away at the missions, strikes, and instances. There hasn't been a direct competitor with Destiny that we know of. Halo 5 & Call of Duty can't truly be compared to Destiny, since both have story based game play with online multiplayer modes.

Destiny was designed as an online only game. The game is dependent upon co-op play between you and 2 other players, except for when you run the few missions in between each boss battle. In most cases though, you have to spend some time in co-op strikes so you can rank up and be able to survive running the aforementioned missions solo. The core of Destiny is promoting community interaction, which plays a massive role in the game.

Star Wars Battlefront is also primarily an online multiplayer game. What's more is that Star Wars is bringing with it countless franchise fans as well as Battlefront starved players....many of who are playing Destiny as we speak. DICE is tapping into the nostalgia of the fan base by featuring locations from the classic trilogy. That, couple with all the hype of the upcoming new trilogy makes Battlefront a force to be reckoned with.

EA Games is no stranger to DLC either, and you can bet they will be dropping them on a regular basis just as Destiny will, but Destiny is at risk of seeing a massive shift in it's popularity as Battlefront goes live. It wouldn't be shocking to see a huge chunk of Destiny players jump ship and head over to Star Wars Battlefront.

While in no way is Battlefront the final nail in Destiny's coffin, it is going to be the deciding factor in how long Bungie will hold out before folding and releasing a Destiny sequel. With the release of Battlefront, the 10 year promise of Destiny may not be fulfilled and gamers may see it's sequel hit the market sooner than expected.

Star Wars Battlefront Updates v. 2.0

We've got some exciting follow-up news to our previous story about EA's revelations about Star Wars Battlefront's initial release content. EA DICE has disclosed news of additional player controlled vehicles. The news was actually broken by Matthew Everett; who is the game's community manager, during an open question forum on Reddit.

We've known from day one that in-game player controlled vehicles will include speeder bikes, X-wings, and TIE fighters (AT-AT's are on rails, so technically they are not player controlled). Well, you can now add AT-STs, Snowspeeders, the Millennium Falcon, "and more" to the list.

No images of the Falcon have yet to be seen, and no further clarrification about the "and more" has been revealed yet. I'm sure you remember how cool the Falcon looked in BF2,  so imagine how gorgeous our favorite rust bucket with a mean bite will look on the current systems!

Until we get a glimpse of her, check out the other vehicles below:

With each passing tease, news conference, or release statement, EA is just giving us tons of reasons to WANT to play Battlefront.

Movies, games, literature & currently running and upcoming television series. Star Wars is definitely coming back with a vengeance, and Battlefront (while not leading the charge) is right up there with the main assault group!

Year of the Ram? I think not.....2015 is the year of the Force!

Star Wars Battlefront Expectations & Updates

EA Games has announced that they expect to sell upwards of 9 to 10 million copies of Star Wars Battlefront from its release date through March 2016. Pretty bold forecasting you say? Well, it might have to do with another tidbit of news they released, which will likely further increase the already high number of pre-orders as well as release date purchases.

Up until now, many fans have been griping about how Battlefront was allegedly going to have a small number of battlefields, with EA releasing additional locations via DLC.

Well, it appears that's not entirely true... EA has announced that Battlefront will have no less than 12 multi-player maps at launch. That number does not take into account the additional single player/co-op maps also included in the game. In addition to the usual map formats of it's predecessors, some maps will support the 40 player Walker Assault mode and others have been specifically designed for close quarter combat. Additional maps will be released via DLC.

While EA has yet to list the maps, they have revealed 3 locations: Hoth, Endor, and Sullust (images below).

Star Wars Battlefront releases November 17, 2015 with a free DLC pack available December 1st for all those who pre-order the game and December 8th for everyone else. One of the maps in that DLC will be the Battle of Jakku, seen in the most recent trailer showing the downed Star Destroyer and an airborne Boba Fett.

Two Classic Star Wars Games Returning

Back when the Sony Playstation 2 & Microsoft Xbox were all the rage, there were 2 Star Wars titles that were quite popular among fans of the franchise. Star Wars: Starfighter and Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter.

While no specifics have been mentioned, one is left to wonder if there would be any additional content added for these updated releases.

For anyone who did not play these games back in the day, I'd recommend giving them a try. They weren't the longest games around, but being in control of a starfighter during some of the best on screen and off screen battles was just so damn cool!

As someone who owned the originals on PS2, I would definitely be interested in playing them on my PS3. Would you? Let us know on our facebook group.

The Grey Jedi In You - ForceStrong Original Article

The Grey Jedi In You
By ~Joshua Gregory King

When you weigh your choices in life; are you driven like a character out of Mass Effect? "Hmm; do I slap this girl in the face for not allowing me to take her out to dinner? Or do I cry like a little girl in the corner." Probably not, you decide based on a large quantity of variances... the good and the bad often intermingle with each other to the point where if you were to choose your gut instinct, it would often both negatively impact and positively affect all aspects.

So why is it that we so often are given only two choices among the ranks of Jedi? In games such as Dark Knight, Jedi Academy, and even non Star Wars based games (Hellloooo Bioshock) we are often given two choices in any given situation. But we are all thinking the same thing;  there is another way, why wouldn't I take the weapon and shoot the baddie? Why would I seriously lock myself into the choice of A) Slaughter every innocent in sight, or B) Rise up on a pedestal and dedicate your life to the church of the force. Well Skywalker; I for one am in love with the expression from a much beloved taco commercial; "Porque no dos?" For those of you whose Spanish is a bit on the weaker side... this means 'why not both?'; and it's such a valid question that most of us actually leave these encounters feeling deprived no matter which choice we happen to make.

If we go for light side, we deprive ourselves the pleasures of destroying our enemies. They are enemies for a reason you know; and most of the time you don't walk into a situation and aim for the nearest living thing... every single GTA game aside. And I find the lack of faith DISTURBING, in the way that the game creators will cripple you for being the GOOD guy in a situation. I mean; which is easier? Masterfully wielding a blade and dodging pedestrians while you ONLY strike 'troopers and dark jedi' in a crowd of innocents with nothing but a bit of speed and the ability to jump a bit higher than usual... or throwing a cloud of freaking lightning above the bad guys heads that bolts only target enemies? To me this always seemed asinine. A true Jedi would know and use both sides of the force, they would ebb and flow; or as Bruce Lee would say 'become water' and adapt to the situation as the needed.

Meaning if I want to force choke the living hell out of a guy I just saw shoot an unarmed pedestrian, why are you going to reward me with dark side points? "Sorry, he was a murderer... but you really should have been gentler in the way you took him out." WHAT?! You can't be serious... I uhh... screw it I'm going totally Revan on these bantha suckers. No..no no...spent the whole entire game up to this point going WAY out of my way to just barely scrape by situations without hurting anything that shouldn't be touched.

Ok well maybe if I just, use speed force, combine it with force jump and throw my saber at exactly a thirty-two degree angle I can swipe those three, dodge the child eating a candy bar in the middle of a MAGICAL BADASS FIGHT and still manage to survive without hurting anyone innocent.

This doesn't make sense, and it never will. This is because in reality, the truth is that you are going to need to use some force to accomplish any goals you have. Whether that be wiping all of humanity out in a single blast while a princess watches or reloading the game six or more times to try to take out an entire group of baddies because you ingeniously saved with two health points.

(Hey we've all done it.) This is why I am personally in LOVE with the style of The Knights of the Old Republic. Which honestly they can't make too many of and needs more sequels than the Twilight series got and didn't deserve from the start. *Force choke Edward. *FORCE CHOKE EDWARD; DAMMIT. *Force... avoid? At least? (saving throw fail)

I always find myself locked in a moral quandary in these games but the beauty of that is you CAN tread the middle path; you can save group A because they deserve it and destroy group B because they deserve it. That's right, I have always found myself following in the path of ole Jolee Bindoo because the man's sage-like wisdom is apparent in his actions. He knows that you need to be able to heal a friend and kill an enemy. Something that is practiced every day in real life but seems to be left in the dust in most choice-based games in these days. A mistake; I might add, all too often present. A mistake, that often leads to the downfall of many close-to-greats.

So I ask you; if an unarmed man walked up to you and whispered in your ear "I've killed... so many children", would you end him? I would. But maybe I've been hanging out with an old man in Kashyyyk just a litttttle too long.

Will We See Battlefront In Action Next Month At Celebration?

Electronic Arts will attend next month's Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, California, but right now, WE DON'T KNOW WHY ;) The publisher is listed as an exhibitor for the show, to be held April 16-19, but no other details were provided.

After EA released the trailer for the upcoming "Star Wars Battlefront 3" at the 2015 Game Developers Conference, fans are now speculating that EA will also release gameplay for the game very soon. It will release for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, sometime around December 2015. Coincidentally, the game will release around the same time as "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" movie. A teaser is expected at the next E3 event.

Star Wars: Battlefront's design director previously teased that DICE would reveal more about the game sometime this spring, which would align nicely with the Star Wars Celebration. Read the full article here.

What are you hoping to see from EA as it relates to Star Wars?  Stay tuned to the ForceStrong Network for all your Battlefront news and updates!

Sony Official Blog: Battlefront '3' Set For A December Release On PS4

The third installment in the “Star Wars: Battlefront” series, named identically to the first one but dubbed “Battlefront 3” by the community, has been confirmed for a release in winter 2015, at least for the PlayStation 4. The revelation came after Sony published a list of all games coming to the console in 2015 on their official blog, and the list also included the new “Battlefront 3”.

The game is expected to revive an old classic franchise, and a lot of us are following its development with active interest, even though there’s admittedly not that much to follow for the time being, as EA/DICE have been rather secretive about their progress. We do know that the game will feature an extensively developed single player campaign though, and it’s also expected to revolutionize the multiplayer aspect of the franchise – but how much exactly is the fight going to change?

It’s pretty much guaranteed that DICE will take some elements from their other popular shooter franchise, “Battlefield”, and implement them in the new “Star Wars: Battlefront”. Battlelog, the system powering the lobbies of “Battlefield”, may also be used in “Star Wars: Battlefront”, and there have been rumors that EA also wants to set up a system similar to the Community Test Environment available for “Battlefield” premium subscribers, which has greatly helped with fine-tuning the balance and performance of “Battlefield”.

Stay tuned here and on our group for future updates.
